It’s an opportunity to get inclusive leadership training from world-class experts and practical advice on how to develop inclusive leadership and cultures, with a particular focus on inspiring Black women into leadership. You’ll also experience how GS champions D&I internally, as all GS colleagues are invited to attend to support their ongoing personal development.

11:00 – 12:00 – Inclusive Leadership taster workshop with Liaquat Lal, GatenbySanderson
Marteka’s seminar will be followed by a taster workshop on Inclusive Leadership with Liaquat Lal from our Leadership & Talent Consultancy team, including:
- Exploring personal awareness and understanding of inclusivity
- How to create a psychologically safe organisation
- Practical steps to develop your inclusive leadership and culture
- Q&A with Liaquat
An edited replay will be available to all who register, excluding any Q&A to encourage openness and transparency during the interactive sessions.

Marteka Swaby is a dynamic and influential figure in the mental health space, a registered BPC Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and also the founder of Benevolent Health, a platform committed to enhancing mental health access. Marteka’s session aligns perfectly with her ongoing efforts to empower and uplift women in leadership roles, especially those with diverse lived experiences and protected characteristics. Liaquat Lal is Partner in our Leadership & Talent Consultancy, designing and delivering world-class leadership and management development programmes and workshops, with a particular focus on organisational development, change management, disruption, ideation, and strategic thinking.
Liaquat started his professional life working in the social care field as practitioner, team leader and strategy co-ordinator for local and central government. The second stage of his career saw him moving into internal learning and development leadership roles for GE Capital and the Co-op. Liaquat transitioned into organisational development and change management, leading teams, consulting and delivering global development programmes to private and public sector, before joining GS.
