If you ever struggle with difficult conversations, especially those tackling poor performance or toxic behaviour, then our Courageous Conversations workshop is a key asset to your leadership skills.
This is the first in our new series of workshops aimed at senior leaders in HR, People & Change, L&D and OD. We will introduce new concepts and ideas around the people agenda, leaving you with practical tools to use within your organisation.
Workshop One: Courageous Conversations.
MS Teams | Thurs 24 March, 9.30-11.00
Conversations offer an opportunity for a dynamic and inclusive experience. They evolve and impact the way we connect, engage, interact and influence others, enabling us to shape reality, mind sets, events and outcomes in a collaborative way. However, many of us find conversations difficult and uncomfortable, especially when addressing performance or behaviours.
A courageous conversation invites a diversity of perspectives, inviting questions and questioning answers. This is especially important at a time of disruption and prolonged uncertainty.
In this workshop we will:
- Explore why some conversations can be uncomfortable or difficult
- Share current thinking in the fields of cognitive neuroscience and linguistics; discuss why conversations are so powerful and the neuroscience of their impact
- Introduce and practice a proven technique to effectively have conversations with courage, confidence, and focus.
This session was led by Liaquat Lal, Partner in GatenbySanderson’s Leadership & Talent Consultancy.
