Corporate Governance Division is a busy and dynamic division working at the heart of the FCA, ensuring the highest standards of governance and decision making. It is led by the Company Secretary who reports directly to the General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer and works closely with the Chair and the Boards of the FCA and PSR.

The Director of Corporate Governance will be responsible for leading, directing and overseeing the work of the division. You will be joining the Senior Leadership Team at the FCA during an exciting and challenging time of great change in financial services and its regulation. You will be responsible for leading a directorate of talented and committed people through significant projects, whilst also delivering on business-as-usual objectives. This is a high profile and diverse role, with exposure to strategic issues and key players in the world of finance, both nationally and internationally. You will work closely with high profile organisations whose role is critical to the success of the financial services sector and its consumers, and to the UK economy, with the ability to influence the shape of corporate governance structure of the FCA and the PSR.

We welcome interest from candidates with the credibility to communicate effectively within the FCA and with other stakeholders at all levels, including at Board and Executive Committee level, with experience gained in the administration and delivery of complex decision-making processes in a timely and efficient manner. Successful candidates for this appointment will demonstrate the ability to understand the FCA’s objectives and legislative requirements whilst balancing the demands of government, industry, and consumer interests through the application of excellent decision-making and sound judgement. Strong personal values and principles, which align with those of the FCA, and an unwavering commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion will underpin the skills and attributes needed for this role.
