Housing Gateway, an Enfield Council owned company, is seeking a dynamic Non-Executive Director to join the board. Established in 2014, Housing Gateway is responsible for the acquisition and management of a property portfolio that provides rented and temporary accommodation homes.

With a portfolio of over 2,500 homes, we are committed to increasing the supply of value-for-money housing and quality accommodation enabling the Council to support homeless households, discharge its statutory homelessness duties and provide other housing solutions which help the council to provide more cost effective solutions for adults and children that the Council owes a statutory duty towards.

Non-Executive Director, Finance | £6,000 per annum for an initial term of two years

As our new Non-Executive Director, you will work as part of the Board to provide leadership and direction to the company. You will recommend strategy and scrutinise the performance of Housing Gateway in meeting agreed goals and objectives, ensuring the maintenance of a financially viable property portfolio. Identifying risks and ensuring that all aspects of risks are addressed with appropriate controls and robust systems is a key part of the role. You will oversee the operation of the company, identify areas for improvement, and ensure adherence to principles that deliver strategic aims while maintaining financial viability.

There is now an opportunity for an exceptional professional with a relevant financial background to join our Board, to help ensure that we successfully deliver our development and regeneration strategies which could involve pursuing new business opportunities for example in the Build to Rent area. Over the coming years we will invest more than ever before as we develop much needed new homes for our communities, as well as investing in our existing stock. There is a significant amount of positive change and activity in Enfield.

We are seeking individuals who have experience working as an effective member of a board in the voluntary, private, or public sector. You should be commercially and financially astute and have a strategic mind, able to analyse complex information and provide clear understanding and critique. We value innovation, forward-thinking, sound judgment, and critical appraisal skills.

Joining Housing Gateway offers an opportunity to make an impact on the lives of many. Our board is known for its collaborative and supportive environment, where each member's contributions are valued and respected. We are passionate about our mission and are looking for someone who shares our commitment to excellence.

If you have a proven track record in and are excited about the prospect of shaping the future of housing for the benefit of Enfield residents, we would love to hear from you.
