An arm’s length body of the Ministry of Justice, the Independent Monitoring Authority ensures that the rights of EU and EEA EFTA citizens and their family members living in the UK and Gibraltar are upheld following the departure of the UK from the EU. We have two duties: to monitor UK public bodies to make sure they adequately and effectively implement the rights provided for by the Citizens’ Rights Agreements; and to promote the adequate and effective implementation and application of the Agreements by holding public bodies to account where there is not full compliance.

We are now looking for a new Head of Strategy and Corporate Services who will play a key supporting role as we pursue best practice and organisational change in support of our mission and purpose.

In this role, you will ensure that our strategy is developed (including our knowledge management strategy) and embedded across the IMA. You will also ensure that appropriate corporate infrastructure is in place and working to support the IMA’s operation. This extends to the strategic leadership of shared services, and a range of corporate services including people, systems and processes; extending to the evolution of organisation-wide corporate arrangements and structures, knowledge and information management, health, safety and environment and estates management.

You will be an energetic, inspiring and strategic leader with a track record of elevating performance across multiple corporate functions. With portfolio management strength, you will exercise good judgement, able to prioritise activity and make good decisions that stand up to scrutiny. Commercially and financially astute with a handle on the detail, you will ideally bring prior experience of delivering business benefit through strategic external partnerships. Regardless, you must be a coherent and credible communicator, able to build trust and cooperation at all levels to deliver outstanding results.

It's an exciting time to join the IMA as we evolve our role and capabilities in continued support of the experience of EU and EEA EFTA citizens who have settled in the UK. We hope you will get in touch to find out more.

We will consider applications for this role on secondment or loan basis (up to a maximum of 2 years).
