Are you looking for an opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading registered providers of social housing?

If so, we are seeking an exceptional new Group Board Member who will also chair our Customer Experience Committee.

Riverside is a group of complementary businesses driven by a clear social purpose, with a charitable housing association at its core. A major national provider of affordable housing, care and support services in England and Scotland, we own over 77,000 homes, have an annual turnover of £680 million, and £5 billion of assets. Our vision is to transform the lives of the 140,000+ people we house and revitalise the neighbourhoods in which they live.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do at Riverside, with all our Board Members playing their part in promoting and championing our values, vision and social purpose. As this role also chairs our Customer Experience Committee, you’ll bring to us extensive customer service experience gained at a strategic level, ideally in a regulated, consumer focused sector. A strong understanding of the regulatory regime and standards for the social housing sector will be essential, along with insight into the sector’s challenges, risks and opportunities. A previous track record of chairing a senior governance body would be advantageous.

Alongside the essential customer engagement and insight skills, we would also welcome hearing from candidates who bring additional exposure to finance and treasury, IT and cyber security, or commercial ventures. You will be an assured influencer and relationship builder with a breadth of strategic skills and the professional maturity and sensitivity to analyse complex issues and deliver sound judgment.

At Riverside, our people are our greatest asset and diversity and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We have signed up to the National Housing Federation’s Chair’s Challenge to increase diversity in our governance community as we strive to reflect the diversity of the communities that we serve. We are committed to supporting and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and this commitment is embraced across the Group.

The time commitment is anticipated to be approximately one to two days per month.

This is a unique opportunity to join us and help deliver our vision of transforming lives and revitalising neighbourhoods.
