We want to rewrite the future of vulnerable children across the UK.

A lot has changed since we began in 1869, but our ambition – to give children safe and happy childhoods – shines just as bright. Today, we have 372 services in local communities, in schools and online, which deliver impactful change for children and young people.

This is an exciting time to join our team as we adapt our policy, public affairs and campaigning activities to the new and emerging political landscape.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to provide strategic leadership across all areas of Influencing and manage the policy, campaigns and public affairs teams, working with the Chief Executive and other senior leaders across the organisation to secure political change for disadvantaged children, young people and families.

This is an opportunity for the right person to make a real difference to the lives of the children and young people who need it most. A passionate and empathetic person, you will bring a combination of policy and political knowledge, ambitious and innovative thinking, alongside your commitment to collaboration and evidence driven approaches.

By establishing and maintaining high level, productive relationships with key external political stakeholders and partners and leading the evolution of our Influencing Strategy, you will build support for the charity, enabling effective policy change and maximising the impact of our work.

If you are an experienced leader with intuition and conviction; able to exercise political, managerial and technical acumen to deliver impactful change, while keeping children and young people at the heart of decisions, we would love to hear from you.

We want to take deliberate and purposeful action to ensure equal opportunity to all groups in society and for Action for Children. We actively encourage applications from Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic, and disabled candidates as they are under-represented within Action for Children.
