In our latest LGBT+ Focus inclusive leadership series interviews, we speak to Dinesh Bhugra, Emeritus Professor of Mental Health and Cultural Diversity at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London, and past President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Dinesh started his career in North India with a national science scholarship, with his career expanding across many geographies and success with both Executive and Non-Executive leadership roles. He talks about how he forged new grounds in the field of psychiatry to ensure diversity and inclusion was not overlooked, barriers he faced due to his race and micro identities, and the importance of cultural confidence training to educate on cultural awareness and support good clinical practice.
