Thank you to Dr Mina Golshan CBE who took time to speak to Sam Ellis, our Director of Strategy and Marketing, as part of our celebration of International Women’s Day, a day we champion 365 days a year. Mina talks to us about her career as a physicist and her ambitions to see more women in the nuclear sector and for the sector itself.
Dr Mina Golshan CBE has over 20 years’ experience in the nuclear sector and high-hazard industries both in the UK and internationally. She is Non Executive Director of the Nuclear Waste Services and Chairs the Environmental, Safety and Security Committee.
Mina joined SZC Nuclear New Build Generation Ltd, a company owned by EDF and the Government, in 2021 as Safety, Security and Assurance Director for Sizewell C and also spent 12 years at the Office for Nuclear Regulation where she was appointed as a Director in 2015.
She is a passionate advocate of women in nuclear and actively supports the work of academia and the Nuclear Industry Association to attract and retain women in the nuclear sector.
Mina was awarded a CBE in the 2021 New Year Honours for services to nuclear regulation.
