Yiannis joined Barnsley College in 2016 and was appointed Principal and CEO in 2019. Originally from Greece, Yiannis came to the UK in 1999 to study, and now has over 12 years’ experience as a senior leader in the Further Education sector.
He talks to Partner Paul Aristides about the challenges of managing staff, students and stakeholders during this period of unforeseen disruption. As he looks towards the future with an emphasis upon recovery, Yiannis considers the role HE has to play in economic recovery and the increased emphasis upon retraining and upskilling workforce.
