Serena Dobson

Following an early career within the Not-for-Profit sector, Serena joined the executive search industry in 2007. Since then, she has worked across central and local government, not-for-profit and the NHS to recruit to a breadth of senior level roles. Prior to joining us she led the Healthcare Practice at another leading executive search firm.

Serena has extensive experience of working with both established and emerging organisations to appoint top teams; and establish effective organisational culture and leadership and at GatenbySanderson she focuses on working with clients across a wide variety of Health and Social Care settings to support the appointment of executive and non-executive Board Members. Additionally, Serena leads on our work within Primary Care, with a particular focus on GP Federations and has supported a number of key appointments in this area, working closely with Boards and wider stakeholders to ensure robust, inclusive processes which result in sustainable appointments which have a direct impact on population health and the reduction of health inequalities at a local level.

Interesting Fact
During the pandemic, Serena rekindled her love for running, clocking up over 1000km in 2020.  She ran her first marathon distance that year; and her first organised marathon event in Edinburgh in 2022.
